Joining a Board & DW Current Memberships

Joining a Board as a REALTOR

Recent changes allow agents to join the MLS without becoming a board member. However, because both of Dalton Wade’s managing brokers are REALTORS®, all Dalton Wade agents are still required to join a local association as a REALTOR®.

This requirement is also outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) signed when joining the brokerage.

Becoming a REALTOR® ensures you stay in full compliance with both the brokerage and the National Association of REALTORS® guidelines tied to our corporate memberships.

Why This Matters

You’ll want to complete your board membership promptly—typically within 30 days of joining Dalton Wade.
Here’s why this timing is important:

  • As a REALTOR® brokerage, our agents must also maintain REALTOR® status.
  • NAR, state associations, and local boards periodically audit our roster.
  • If an agent does not join a board in time, the board may instruct us to remove the agent to maintain compliance.
  • Delays can also interrupt your access to services you rely on for daily business.

We’re here to help you complete this step smoothly so you can stay active and supported in your business.

Choosing Your Board

You may join any board that Dalton Wade is affiliated with.
