Georgia MLS & Board Membership Policy

Georgia MLS & Board Membership Policy

Purpose

This will serve to clarify current board membership requirements for Georgia agents using specific MLS platforms and outlines where temporary exceptions apply.

Scope

This applies to Georgia real estate agents affiliated with the brokerage and using specific Georgia MLS platforms. All other states follow their existing board membership requirements.

Current Policy

Temporary Board Membership Exception

  • Georgia agents who are members of Georgia MLS (GAMLS) and/or First Multiple Listing Service (FMLS) ONLY are temporarily exempt from joining a local Realtor board.
  • This is a temporary exception while the Brokers work on establishing a separate entity for these agents to join.
  • This exception applies exclusively to GAMLS and FMLS participation.

Board Membership Still Required

  • Georgia agents outside the GAMLS and/or FMLS coverage areas must join a local Realtor board.
  • All agents in other states
are required to maintain board membership as normally required in their state and MLS.

Important Notes

  • This exception is temporary and subject to change.
  • Agents will be notified once the new entity structure is finalized and board requirements are updated.
  • Failure to maintain required board membership where applicable may result in MLS access issues or compliance violations.
