When forming a real estate team under Dalton Wade, you may choose your team name—however, it must comply with state-specific advertising rules. These regulations are designed to prevent consumer confusion and ensure that team names are not mistaken for independent brokerages.
Below are the requirements for each state Dalton Wade operates in.
Definition: A “team” is two or more licensees within the same company who work together and present themselves to the public as a group.
Requirements (effective Oct. 1, 2025, under Act 2025-380):
A designated Team Leader must be identified with the qualifying broker.
Team names must include the word “Team” or “Group.”
Advertising must include:
The name of at least one team member.
The name of the brokerage.
Written authorization from the qualifying broker to use the team name in advertising.
Licensees may only belong to one team.
Teams do not require separate licensure as a business entity.
