Sometimes, you may receive multiple contracts, disclosures, or transaction forms combined into a single PDF file.
Before uploading these documents into Dotloop, you can separate them into individual PDF files to make them easier to organize and submit for compliance review.
There are two common methods for splitting PDFs outside of Dotloop.
Most computers allow you to save selected pages from a document as a new PDF using their built-in print functionality.
Open the PDF document on your computer.
Identify the page numbers for each document you want to separate.
Click File → Print, or use the Print button.
Under Printer or Destination, select Save as PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF, depending on your computer.
Under Pages, choose the specific page range you want to save.
Click Save or Print.
Name the new PDF file and choose where to save it.
Repeat the process for each document you need to separate.
Suppose you receive a 15-page PDF containing three documents:
| Pages | Document | Suggested File Name |
|---|---|---|
| 1–12 | Purchase Contract | Purchase Contract.pdf |
| 13–14 | Flood Disclosure | Flood Disclosure.pdf |
| 15 | HOA Rider | HOA Rider.pdf |
You would save pages 1–12 as one PDF, pages 13–14 as another, and page 15 as a third file.
Important: Printing a PDF to a new file may remove interactive form fields, digital signature information, or other document features. Review each saved file carefully, particularly if it contains signatures.
Another option is to use a PDF splitting tool such as iLovePDF – Split PDF.
Open the PDF splitting tool.
Upload the PDF you want to separate.
Choose the page ranges you want to extract.
Split the document.
Download the resulting PDF files.
Rename each file so it is easy to identify.
Privacy Reminder: Real estate transaction documents may contain clients' personal, financial, or confidential information. Avoid uploading sensitive transaction documents to third-party websites unless the service is approved for that use under applicable brokerage policies.
For documents containing sensitive information, using your computer's built-in PDF tools or an approved document management solution is generally preferable.
Once your documents have been separated:
Open the appropriate transaction loop.
Locate the folder where each document belongs.
Click Add Document.
Select Browse or Computer to upload your PDF files.
Place each document into its required folder or placeholder.
Review the uploaded files to ensure all pages are included and legible.

After all required documents are uploaded and complete, remember to Submit for Review so Dalton Wade's Compliance Team can review your transaction.
