Branding for Print vs Digital

Branding for Print vs Digital

Dalton Wade’s brand should remain consistent across every medium—whether it’s a postcard in the mail, a yard sign on a busy corner, or a graphic posted on Instagram. While the design elements are the same, the way files are prepared for print versus digital is different. This guide explains how to use Dalton Wade’s logos, fonts, and colors correctly across both formats. Please note: While we encourage you to use the branding set forth, you may change colors and fonts with the approval of the brokerage.

1. Color: RGB vs CMYK

  • Digital (Web/Social Media)

    • Colors display in RGB (Red, Green, Blue) or HEX codes.

    • Dalton Wade’s dark green is: #87905A (RGB: 135,144,90)

    • Dalton Wade's lighter green is: #94AD8C (RGB: 148, 173, 140)

    • HEX colors are exact for digital use, but may look slightly different in print.

  • Print (Signs, Flyers, Business Cards, Postcards)

    • Colors print in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black).

    • Dalton Wade’s dark green in CMYK is: C6 M0 Y37 K44.

    • Dalton Wade’s lighter green in CMYK is: C10 M0 Y13 K32.

    • Always check proofs from your print vendor—colors can shift from screen to paper

2. Resolution & File Quality

  • Digital

    • Use 72–150 DPI for web and social media (faster load times).

    • PNG is preferred for logos on transparent backgrounds.

    • JPG works for photos but should not be used for logos or text-heavy graphics.

  • Print

    • Minimum 300 DPI is required for sharp prints.

    • Always use high-resolution SVG or other scalable version of the Dalton Wade logo.

    • Avoid screenshots or stretching low-quality images—this makes prints blurry or pixelated.

3. Fonts

Dalton Wade’s approved fonts (from Google Fonts):

Best Practices

  • Use Montserrat for clear, modern readability in print and digital.

  • Reserve Playfair Display for luxury or premium materials.

  • Never substitute fonts outside the approved set.

4. File Formats

  • For Print

    • Preferred: PDF, EPS, SVG (vector-based, scalable without loss of quality).

    • Acceptable: High-resolution PNG (for smaller items like business cards).

  • For Digital

    • Preferred: PNG (transparent logos, sharp quality).

    • Acceptable: JPG (photos only).

    • Avoid GIFs or low-res images.

5. Preparing Print Materials

  • Add a 0.125” bleed around all edges of business cards, postcards, and flyers to prevent white edges.

  • Confirm brokerage name (Dalton Wade Real Estate Group or Dalton Wade, Inc.) is legible and in compliance with state laws.

  • Use the luxury logo for properties over $500k (see Luxury Branding article).

  • Always proof designs before bulk printing.

6. Preparing Digital Materials

  • Resize images for each platform. Sizes change on a constant basis, please consult Google or the platform you are wanting to post on for latest data.

  • Keep text minimal in social graphics (too much text lowers reach).

  • Use PNG logos for clarity on social and web.

  • Test mobile view before publishing.
