Modifying/Changing a Contract: Blank Addendum to Contract

I'd like share a little more info about the Blank Addendum to Contract.  It is the form that is used to add language to a contract. Buyers and sellers can agree to any language they choose, but we are real estate agents, not attorneys, so please use caution.

Use of addenda

If an executed contract has inconsistencies between pre-printed provisions and an addendum, handwritten and typed terms will generally prevail over pre-printed terms that are in direct conflict.

USE CAUTION: Buyers and Sellers can agree to any language they choose, but we are not attorneys.  REALTORS should use extreme caution, many terms have requirements of varying degrees and attorneys are better able to draft language to sufficiently address the issue and avoid problems later. 

How to find the blank addendum in Dotloop:

  1. Go to your Mid Transaction Docs folder
  2. Click add document (to the right of the folder name)
  3. Click templates
  4. Scroll the down the list of folders on the left to Common Addenda
  5. Click Common Addenda
  6. Form is named: Addendum to Contract (FAR ACSP-4)
  7. Click the checkbox next to the file name
  8. Click copy
